Understanding Water Pattern Graphs

How to use the Water Pattern Graph to review your weekly pattern, including the hover feature, date picker, and sensor selection.

Updated over 2 months ago

Water Pattern Graphs provide a detailed visual representation of your water usage over time, helping you monitor and understand your consumption patterns.

Where to Find It?

The Water Pattern Graphs can be accessed on the Water Graphs page of our dashboard. This section provides a detailed visual representation of your water usage over time.

What Does It Do?

The Water Pattern Graphs are designed to help you monitor and understand your water usage patterns. It breaks your water trends down by the time of day and days of the week and displays them as shades of blue. The darker a box is on the chart, the more water is used in that hour. There's a legend on the right to let you know the approximate amount of water that each shade represents.

Here’s a detailed breakdown of its features:

  • 7-Day Water Usage: The graph displays your total water usage over the past 7 days, broken down by hour. This allows you to see how your water consumption varies throughout the day and week.

  • Default View: By default, the graph shows the last 7 days of data, up to the current hour. This means you always have the most recent data at your fingertips.

  • Legend: On the right side of the graph, you’ll find a legend that indicates the amount of water each color represents. This makes it easy to understand the graph at a glance.

  • Interactive Hover: When you hover over any square on the graph, it will display the specific time and the amount of water used during that hour. This feature provides precise details about your water usage.

  • Date Picker: You can change the 7-day range displayed on the graph using the date picker. This allows you to view water usage data for any 7-day period you’re interested in.

  • Sensor Table: At the bottom of the page, there is a sensor table that allows you to include or exclude specific sensors from the graph. This feature is similar to the one found in the Usage section and provides flexibility in how you view your data.

How to Use It

  1. Navigate to the Water Graphs Page: Log in to your dashboard and go to the Water Graphs page.

  2. Review the Default Data: Initially, you’ll see the water usage for the past 7 days. Use the legend to understand the color coding.

  3. Hover for Details: Move your cursor over any square on the graph to see the exact water usage for that hour and time.

  4. Adjust the Date Range: Use the date picker to select a different 7-day period if you want to analyze water usage for a different timeframe. Select your start date.

  5. Modify Sensor Inclusion: Use the sensor table at the bottom to include or exclude specific sensors from the graph to tailor the data to your needs.
