The Floodie check-in cadence refers to how often the Floodie device reports data back to the system. When a flood or temperature alert occurs – Floodie pushes an update to the dashboard within 3‑6 minutes.
The default reporting cadence for Floodie is set to 4 hours primarily to balance the need for timely data updates with battery life considerations. Users have the option to adjust the reporting cadence to more frequent intervals, such as every 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 2 hours, but this comes at the expense of reduced battery life.
The 4-hour default setting allows for efficient battery usage while still providing regular updates.
When no alert is present – you can set how often Floodie checks‑in:
Every 30 minutes
Every 1 hour
Every 2 hours
Every 4 hours (default)
Exception
During the first few hours after installation Floodie may report more frequently. This is normal and helps verify the device is working correctly.
How to change the cadence in AlertAq
Log in – Go to AlertAQ, enter your credentials, and click Log In.
Open Sensors – Click Sensors in the left‑hand navigation panel.
Select the sensor – Find the Floodie device you want to modify and click its row.
Open Settings – A right‑hand panel appears; click Settings.
Choose the cadence – Under the sensor reporting frequency, select one of the four options (30 min, 1 h, 2 h, 4 h) from dropdown.
