What is the Recycling Bin?
The Alert Labs recycling bin provides a grace period for sensors that have recently been removed. Instead of immediately and permanently deleting the sensor and its data from your account, the sensor is now moved to a temporary holding area where its historical data may be recoverable for up to 30 days.
Where can I see what's in the recycling bin?
You can get to the Recycling Bin from the Sensors page.
Select the Sensors page from the navigation bar.
Click the "..." button at the top right of the Sensors table.
Once in the recycling bin, you'll be able to see the sensors and where they were registered, when it was sent to the recycling bin (i.e. when it stopped reporting data), as well as the last day that you have to restore it before the data is permanently lost.
How can I restore my sensor?
Sensors in the recycling bin will be recoverable for up to 90 days, depending on the reason they're there. The last eligible day for restoration will be listed under "Details" in the Recycling Bin table.
To restore the data,
Click on the sensor to open the Details side panel
Click the Restore button.
* if you cannot click the Restore button, please see below *Choose to either Restore the sensor with its historical data and settings, or Add as New to start using it again with default settings and no prior usage.
Why are my sensors in the Recycling Bin?
A sensor may move to the Recycling Bin for a few different reasons. The reason will impact how to Restore the sensor.
Reason: | What happened: | How to Restore: |
Deleted Sensor | Someone with edit access has deleted the sensor from AlertAQ™. | Click the Restore button. |
Sensor Replaced | The original sensor was replaced with new hardware and the data has been moved. | Not Restorable. |
Sensor Subscription Cancelled | We received a request to cancel the subscription for the sensor. We have deactivated the sensor; it cannot be used until a new subscription is created. | Reach out to hello@alertlabs.com to set up a new subscription. Once the subscription is paid, the sensor will be reactivated and historical data can be recovered. |
Outstanding Invoices | Subscription invoices associated with this sensor are past due. The sensor will remain suspended until the balance owed is paid. | Pay outstanding invoices. |
