How to reseat a battery Shuttie

Step 1: Reseat the batteries

Reseating the Battery Shuttie often clears a portal status mismatch with the physical status of the shuttie .

  1. Open the battery compartment with a flat-head or screwdriver.

  2. Remove the batteries and wait at least 10 seconds. You can reuse the same batteries or put in new ones.

  3. Insert the batteries positive side down, as shown on the sticker inside the compartment.

  4. Screw the lid back on and make sure the compartment is fully closed.

  5. The light on top should blink white, then red. The Shuttie will then run a self-test to confirm it has power.

Check AlertAQ™. If the dashboard now matches the valve, you're done. If not, go to Step 2.

Step 2: Relabel the Shuttie state

Relabeling tells the Shuttie which position is actually closed. This only works when the valve is physically closed and the dashboard shows Open. It won't work the other way around.

  1. Get the Shuttie into that state: the valve physically closed (no water flow) and the dashboard showing Open. Because the states are reversed, selecting Open in AlertAQ™ will usually close the valve physically.

  2. Confirm water flow has stopped.

  3. Press and hold the Shuttie's button for 25 seconds, then let go. The LED stays off while you hold the button.

  4. After you release, the LED should glow solid green (not blinking) for 10 seconds.

  5. The state is now relabeled. Check AlertAQ™ to confirm the dashboard matches, then open the valve again if you want water restored.

If the LED doesn't glow solid green, or the dashboard still doesn't match, go to Step 3.

Step 3: Manually reset the valve position

Use the T-shaped key that came with your Shuttie.

  1. Remove the Shuttie, the actuator mount, and the valve adapter insert.

  2. Use the T-key to turn the adapter, or use a wrench, to fully close the valve. Confirm water flow has stopped.

  3. Reinstall the valve adapter, actuator mount, and Shuttie.

  4. Repeat Step 2 to relabel the state so the dashboard matches the valve.
