How to Calibrate Your Flowie-O Water Sensor

Water meters can differ greatly based on the manufacturer, municipality, pipe size, and age. While the default calibration on your Flowie-O water sensor is set to accommodate most water meters, some may report water use differently. To ensure the most accurate data, we recommend calibrating your Flowie-O. Here's how:

Step 1: Take a Picture of Your Water Meter

Capture a clear image of the numbers on the face/dial of your water meter. Make sure all digits, dials, decimals, and units are easily visible for accurate calibration.

Tip: You may have done this already as part of the sensor registration process.

Step 2: Submit Your Picture for Reading

  • Click the Sensors tab at the top of the page.

  • Select the desired Flowie-O water sensor within the list of sensors.

  • Click "Calibration" to get to the Calibration page.

  • On the Calibration page, click "Submit Photo" and follow the prompts for submitting your photo as well as the date and time it was taken.

Our team will review the picture and add your first calibration point to your account. You'll get notified by email when your calibration has been reviewed and either approved or rejected. If rejected, the notification email will include details and next steps. If approved, you'll be able to submit your second calibration picture.

Step 3: Take a Second Picture

After you've used enough water (we'll notify you), take a second picture of your water meter. Ensure all digits, dials, decimals, and units are easily visible.

Step 4: Submit Your Second Picture for Reading

  • Follow the same path as before: Top Menu > Sensors > Choose the relevant Flowie-O > Calibration.

  • Click "Submit Photo" and follow the walk-through instructions.

Once we have the second photo, we'll review and add your last calibration point.

You will be notified by email once your calibration has been reviewed and either approved or rejected. If rejected, the notification email will include details and next steps. Once calibrated, your Flowie-O will provide even more precise data on water use and corresponding costs.

Please allow approximately 3 business days for your calibration submission to be reviewed by our team.
