The AlertAQ™ water and A/C intelligence platform will notify you if your sensors lose their connection to our system due to dead or drained battery. These are called Drained Battery Alerts. Read on below for tips about the best way to get your sensors back online.
Alert Labs sensors are either wall powered or battery powered.
Wall powered sensors include Sensor Relays, Flowies, and Shutties (Plug-In).
Battery powered sensors include Flowie-Os, Floodies, Humies, and Shutties (Battery).
Is your wall powered sensor issuing a drained battery notification?
Including Sensor Relay, Flowie, Shuttie (Plug-In)
What does it mean?
Wall powered sensors from Alert Labs come with a rechargeable backup battery, so it can keep running temporarily during a power outage or after unplugging. When you see an alert about a drained battery, this means that the sensor has been unplugged and its backup battery has been expended.
Solution
Locate your sensor.
Check if the sensor has been unplugged from the power source.
If it was unplugged, connect it back to power. The sensor and its backup battery will start to recharge as soon as it's plugged in.
If the the sensor was still plugged but the LED indicator isn't on, test the outlet and try alternate charging accessories (cable and wall adapter). If the outlet and chargers appear to be working, but the sensor will not power up, please contact Alert Labs Support by chat.
If the sensor is plugged in and the LED is blinking red, the sensor may have temporarily lost power and then lost its connection to AlertAQ™. It needs to connect with our platform again in order to dismiss the the Drained Battery alert.
Once the backup battery is recharged and the sensor is successfully communicating to the AlertAQ™ platform, the drained battery notification will disappear.
Is your battery powered sensor issuing a drained battery notification?
Flowie-O, Floodie, Humie, Shuttie (Battery)
What does it mean?
When you see an alert about a drained battery, this means that the sensors batteries have been expended and need to be replaced.
Solution
Determine what type of batteries are required.
Flowie-O requires two (2) D-cell batteries
Floodie requires two (2) AA batteries
Humie requires two (2) AA batteries
Shuttie (Battery) requires four (4) CR123A batteries
Locate your sensor.
Open the battery compartment.
Remove and properly dispose of spent batteries.
Insert new batteries, following the orientation guide on the sensor's battery compartment.
Close the battery compartment. Ensure the lids are full closed, with no gaps. Check the LED indicator to make sure that the sensor is receiving power.
Once the battery is powered and the sensor is successfully communicating to the AlertAQ™ platform, the drained battery notification will disappear.
